[PCA] TV: David Mizejewski on the Today Show

Along with 'not sniping at one another' we must actually make an effort to
find out about and positively promote one another.

Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes has been in existence for 25
years. In our bi-monthly Journal we frequently mention and do what we can to
promote other organizations that have missions that are consonant with ours-
'promotion of biodiversity through the preservation, restoration, and
establishment on native plant communities'. We act on the premise that
education that promotes environmental sensibility and encourages the
consumer to behave in a responsible manner is valuable regardless of its
source. The more sources of information the consumer is made aware of, the
more likely that 'something will register'. Further, the more discussions
like this one that one participates in, the more that some of the finer
points that have been raised here come to light and gel and factor into one'
s thinking on the subject. And, the more aware one becomes of the notion
that 'it's all one piece'.

Good job David!

Great job Dave! and THANK YOU for having this discussion on-line!
It could not have come at a better time. I am planning a symposium
specifically to promote discussion between "gardeners" and conservationists.
This week I need to talk to potential sponsors.
This on-line discussion really illustrates the need for communication
between the two groups. As conservationists we seem to "preach to the choir"
to often and as gardeners we do not always grasp the full implications of
planting decisions. Sniping at each other is counterproductive for both
groups. Promoting education about species interrelationships and the need to
protect diversity can only be in the best interest of all of us.
