RURAL ACTION JOB DESCRIPTION

SUNDAY CREEK WATERSHED COORDINATOR

The Sunday Creek Watershed Coordinator is responsible for organizing and
implementing programs to protect local water resources.  The Watershed
Coordinator is responsible for networking with agencies, organizations and
citizens on a multi-county basis and for establishing a permanent local
water resource restoration and protection program.

Qualifications: This position requires the ability to work independently
or in a team setting, excellent organizational and communications skills,
the ability to work under deadline pressure and the ability to handle
multiple tasks.  Strong interpersonal, writing, phone, and analytical
skills are important, as well as experience with personal computer
programs.  Experience in conducting grant research and managing program
budgets is required. Coordination of the collection of water quality data
and implementation of conservation projects is essential.

Supervisor: Rural Action Watershed Restoration Director

Responsibilities:

A. Implement the comprehensive Watershed Management Plan, Watershed
Coordinator work plan, and other grants, working with the local technical
advisory council.

B. Implement the Acid Mine Drainage Abatement and Treatment Plan.

C. Research grant funding sources, develop grants, complete all reports

D. Evaluate the projects progress toward meeting water quality objectives.

E. Manage the watershed office; hire, supervise, train and evaluate
personnel interns & volunteers.

F. Develop budgets and coordinate fundraising.

G. Produce and disseminate informational materials; coordinate
relationships with State and Federal agencies, academic institutions and
other citizen groups.

H. Coordinate monthly public meetings, watershed tours and workshops.

I. Serve as the primary contact person to the general public, media,
agency personnel and grant funding sources.
