Native plants are a subject of both science and passion with many
different viewpoints. Remember that while you are passionate about your
viewpoint, others are passionate about theirs. The purpose of this list
is to have beneficial discussion as adults, not to carry increasingly
angry notes to each other. The native-plants list has almost 500 people
subscribed, so take a moment to think whether or not all of them need to
see your personal note to someone. I would also like to remind you that
the list archives are publically available on the web and what you write
reflects upon you not only now, but also in the future as people view the
archives of these discussions. As moderator, I will be rejecting posts
that contain inflammatory language (feel free to rewrite them and resend),
so I urge you to consider your wording before you hit that send e-mail
button.

Keep in mind the core rules of Netiquette:

Rule 1: Remember the Human
Rule 2: Adhere to the same standards of behavior online that you follow in
real life
Rule 3: Know where you are in cyberspace
Rule 4: Respect other people's time and bandwidth
Rule 5: Make yourself look good online
Rule 6: Share expert knowledge
Rule 7: Help keep flame wars under control
Rule 8: Respect other people's privacy
Rule 9: Don't abuse your power
Rule 10: Be forgiving of other people's mistakes

You can read about each of these in detail at
