involves many factors that need to balance time, cost, scale, priority, and available resources. Direct seeding or natural regeneration can be effective plant establishment strategies in some restoration applications, but the use of nursery plant materials
can be an effective option and should be an additional tool in the revegetation toolbox. This presentation covers the basics when considering the use of nursery seedlings including timing, seed use, stocktype, application, and benefits, and also covers how

Forest Service, in the Rocky Mountain Research Station. His research primarily deals with nursery cultural practices and their effects on the establishment and subsequent growth of reforestation and restoration plant materials. Jeremy also serves as a Tribal
Nursery Specialist on the National Reforestation, Nurseries, and Genetic Resources (RNGR) team.
