Conservation of Biodiversity of Kazakhstan (ACBK), released today, finds that the intensive and unregulated harvesting of liquorice plants, which grow in the flat unforested grasslands (steppes) and mountain rivers banks of Kazakhstan, is a major direct pressure
on this important resource.
