<p><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Please
join Interior’s Office of Policy Analysis on October 7 for their monthly
speaker series. This month’s seminar features
a discussion on how <span>ecosystem services can be
factored into a variety of public and private sector decisions in ways that support
environmental, social and economic goals. </span>Human well-being and nature
are inextricably linked. Yet policies and practices related to human
development and ecosystem protection are too often developed separately or even
viewed as in opposition. By considering nature in terms of ecosystem services,
decision makers can see and value the environment as a series of <i>assets or benefits</i> that humans in fact
depend upon. </font></p>
<p><font face="arial, helvetica, sans-serif">To
