What it means is:<br>
* only registered seeds (or other plant propagation methods) will be allowed<br>
* registering a seed species, form, variety etc. costs money<br>
* registered seed species, form, variety etc. needs to be registered again<br>
every year, which costs money<br>
<br>
If this goes through as proposed, it means the end to a LOT of small plant<br>
providers, tree providers and pretty much all variety in gardening and plant<br>
growing.<br>
<br>
It favors the large while hampering the small.<br>
<br>
If you're in the EU, please write to your MEP today: if you don't, the only<br>
voices they'll hear are those of lobbyists, who certainly won't talk for the<br>
people, for small companies, for variety.<br>
<br>
It might be of value to sign this petition, too, but the MEPs need to hear<br>
that this needs to be stopped.<br>
