Conference will<br>
take place at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center in Boone on November
17<br>
and 18, 2006. The conference registration fee is $95 for members of the<br>
North Carolina Natural Products Association (NCNPA); $135 for the general<br>

The purpose of the event is to inform and inspire attendees about the<br>
economic potential of natural products for North Carolina. Opportunities<br>
are available in agriculture, medicine, manufacturing, and research for
a<br>
wide array of natural products ranging from native medicinal herbs and<br>
functional foods to biofuels. This conference will provide information
from<br>
leaders in the field, many from North Carolina. Attendees will choose
from<br>
a number of hands-on workshops and information packed educational sessions<br>
designed to help them realize the opportunities that await as North Carolina<br>
expands into a wellness-driven economy. <br>
Friday's workshops will be followed by dinner and a keynote presentation
by<br>
Michael McGuffin, president of the American Herbal Products Association.<br>
Saturday's educational program will be highlighted by a lunchtime plenary<br>
address by Loren Israelson of the Utah Natural Products Alliance.<br>
Saturday's sessions are contained in five tracks: Natural Health &
Wellness,<br>
Science & Natural Biotechnology, The Business of Natural Products,
Regional<br>
Opportunities, and Horticulture. Workshop presenters include: Omar Cruz
