Insights from the Sustainable Herbs Program Learning Lab and Learning Journey

Webinar date/time: Dec 7, 2023; 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM ET

Duration: 1.25 hour

What will you learn?

Since the fall of 2021, the Sustainable Herbs Program Learning Lab has been using the tools of the Presencing Institute and awareness based systems change to ask: How can sourcing medicinal plants enhance the wellbeing and prosperity for people and plants around the world?

Is it possible to create an industry that is truly rooted in respect for the plants, people, and the planet? And if so, what changes are needed? What can a group of committed stakeholders from around the world, do to begin making those changes? This conversation culminated in the recent Learning Journey to Appalachia, a deep dive into the herb trade in Appalachia.

The Learning Lab and Learning Journey are ways to approach the seemingly intractable challenges in the botanical industry in a different, more systemic way.

Presenters: SHP Director Ann Armbrecht will speak with Cofacilitator, Julie Arts, and SHP Learning Lab/Journey Participants, Paulo Barriga, Pebani; Nate Brennan, Pacific Botanicals; Guido Masé, Traditional Medicinals; Zacharia Levine, The Synergy Company; and Erin Smith, Banyan Botanicals.
