 FORUM: WV Forest Farming Forum

Forum date: Saturday, May 21-Sunday, May 22, 2022
Location: Marlinton and Hillsboro, West Virginia

What will you learn?
This two-day event will focus on forest farming as a means for generating agricultural income while conserving and rejuvenating forested land. Workshop topics cover the cultivation of medicinal herbs and mushrooms, site selection and propagation, maple syrup production, creative marketing for forest farmed products, and more. Spoiler alert: info on mini-grants and technical assistance for forest farmers will be shared at the Forum too!

WORKSHOP: Forest Farming from Seed

Location: Sage Mountain Botanical Sanctuary in Vermont

This free event is intended for forest farmers or folks wanting to get involved. Get hands-on experience planting medicinals and learning about forest farming best practices. The workshop will focus on ginseng, ramps, bloodroot, goldenseal, and black cohosh and is co-hosted by the Northeast Forest Farmers Coalition and Sage Mountain Botanical Sanctuary.
