2015 Long Island Native Plant Symposium
on Saturday, October 24th at
Farmingdale State College
Hosted by the Department of Urban Horticulture and Design
This invitation is open to all. Garden designers, ecologists, students,
landscapers, educators, propagators, conservationists, home gardeners,
horticulturalists and more..."Rooted in Long Island's Past, Present and
Future, 10 Years and Growing"
We have an excellent line up of speakers including Heather Holm, Pollinator
Specialist from Minnesota, Greg Houseal, Program Director at the Tall Grass
Prairie Center University of Northern Iowa, Jordan Raphael, Biologist for
the National Park Service – Fire Island National Seashore, and Dr. Jessica
Lubell, Associate Professor of Horticulture at the University of
Connecticut. Dual sessions on Native Plant Design and Native Plant
Marketing and Propagation will be held in the afternoon with a LINPI 10
Year Anniversary Wine and Cheese Reception following immediately after.
Educational tables proposals are also still being accepted for
organizations wishing to display their exhibits and work.
