[MPWG] Call for Papers: The Silk Road, materia medica, remedies and therapeutics

~  CALL FOR PAPERS  ~ 
 The International Society for the History of
Medicine (ISHM) will hold its 44th Congress in TBILISI, GEORGIA,
SEPTEMBER 10-14, 2014. The main topic is "The Great Silk Road". 

The
Institute for the Preservation of Medical Traditions [1] (IPMT) is
organizing a panel on the circulation of materia medica, remedies and
therapeutics, theories and methods, between the East and the West, China
and the Mediterranean. Original papers are invited on any aspect of this
phenomenon from the most ancient identifiable traces of the Silk Road to
the 15th/16th century, on both knowledge and practice, from the East to
the West and conversely, including the many intermediaries along the
Road. Multidisciplinary approaches are encouraged.
