First Call for Candidates!
Are you an outstanding, talented and young conservationist? Or do you know
someone who fits this profile? You or your colleague might be eligible for
one of the three Future for Nature Awards of ? 50.000 each! Interested?
Please apply no later than August 31st, 2011, via
http://www.futurefornature.net/apply.
This year's winners were Mr. Ofir Drori (bushmeat trade in Camerooon),
Ms. Barbara Galletti (Bluewhale in Chile) and Mr. Corneille Ewango(Okapi
in DR Congo). Do you want your or your colleague's name among the winners
next year? Apply now!
An independent, international selection committee, consisting of eminent
conservationists, will select the Award Winners. The Future for Nature
Award will be issued in March 2012 at Burgers? Zoo, the Netherlands. For
specific information and for the application form, please visit our
website www.futurefornature.net.

The Future for Nature Award ...
· Is a reward for outstanding achievements in the protection of
species of wild flora and fauna;
· Consists of three prizes of ?50.000. Two prizes will be given to
internationals and one to a Dutch
speaking candidate;
· Aims to stimulate award winners to sustain their dedicated work, to
raise their profile,
to extend their professional network and to strengthen their
funding basis;
· Has been made possible due to funding by Burgers' Zoo and the
Gieskes-Strijbis Fonds.
A Conservation Sponsor Market
The Conservation Sponsor Market takes place during the Award Event and
aims to establish contact between Award nominees, Award winners and
potential sponsors.
Main eligibility criteria
· Activities of the conservation leader have clear, substantial and long
lasting benefits for the conservation
status of one or more species of wild flora and/or fauna;
· Applicants should not be at the end of their career; the preference is
for talented, young candidates at the
early or mid stages of their career;
· Applicants should not be older than 35 years;
· Practical conservation relevance and long term benefits of current and
future work or project of the candidate;
· Conservation leadership, actual and potential contributions of
applicant in promoting conservation.

For further information about the Future for Nature Award Foundation, the
Future for Nature Award and Applications, please read the information and
criteria on the website http://www.futurefornature.net/. The deadline to
send in your application is the 31st of August 2011.
