 Dear MPWG list members,,

I have just relocated from the East San Francisco Bay Area to Whidbey
Island, Washington and am researching medicinal and edible native plants,
wildcrafting, herbalism, ethnobotany, botany, restoration ecology, plant
conservation, agroforestry (non-timber resources), forest gardening,
ecoforestry, watershed health, soil health, and other related fields. I am
interested in restoring forest systems to optimum health using similar
management techniques employed by the Native American people, and using the
native flora (and mushrooms) as food, medicine, and fiber. I wish to combine
restoration forestry techniques and native plants with small-scale forest
gardening of non-native vegetable and herbal species, as humans might
ideally co-exist with the land in a thriving ecosystem. I would like to
connect with people involved in such work and any of its related fields.

The area I am interested in extends from Whidbey Island to Southern British
Columbia (Roberts Creek, BC), or more generally the Puget Sound ecoregion.
Should you have contacts in this region please let me know, and feel free to
forward my information and request to others. I am also interested in
internship opportunities beyond this area. Should it be appropriate, please
keep me updated on internships and apprenticeships in the US and Canada.
Thank you.
