What First Nation elders call Snake Root is, in the eyes of science, 
American Ginger.

It took Chris Craig several years to make this determination. But as the 
senior forest technician with the South Nation Conservation Authority, it 
was all part of the process for the Medicinal Plant Project, which wraps 
up this month.
