Travel to foreign lands to understand one ethnobotanist's attempts to
preserve traditional knowledge of plant uses. Ethnnobotany is the
science that studies and documents plants within the context of the
cultures that utilize and maintain them. Sustainability requires
protecting both the plants and the human populations they support. The
process begins with discussions with healers and proceeds by identifying
collaborators to assist with the development of a project that offers
benefits to all those participating. To assure that the future of plant
knowledge is secure, the implementation of monitoring harvest treatments
from the wild will be presented.
