[MPWG] Egyptian medicinal plant specialist looking for American university to prepare PhD

I have received the following request from a medicinal plant research colleague situated in Egypt, Prof. Dr. M.S.A. Safwat, of the Egyptian Society of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants (ESMAP), and also of the Regional Medicinal Herbal Plants (M.H.P.) Network of The Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East and North Africa (AARINENA).

Dr. Safwat has an assistant, Ahmed Mohamed Elghareeb Abdel Gany, who helps him with his work for the M.H.P. Network. He is about to finish his Masters degree in medicinal plants and organic farming. Dr. Safwat would like to find a place for him at an American university to prepare his Ph.D., and would be very thankful for any appropriate suggestions and/or introductions.
