[MPWG] Sources of Ginseng Decline?

Dear MPWG - A couple weeks back an article by Marc Blumenthal was posted on 
the recent ginseng decision by USFW.  The article as well as the recent 
decision makes no mention of habitat loss and other factors (over 
population of deer and turkey, logging, development) as sources of 
declining ginseng populations.  Why is that? Is anyone working on a 
systematic comparison of all possible activities related to ginseng decline?
