Background: Harvesters around the country have mentioned concerns regarding
the impact of herbicides on NTFP (non-timber forest product) supply and
human health. Sprayed areas are typically only marked for roadside
spraying, if at all. The National Network of Forest Practitioners-NTFP
Working Group is discussing this issue and would appreciate input from a
wider audience on the following areas:

What are your experiences with regard to how public agencies manage
chemical applications?
1. What is the documentation process for applying chemicals?
2. What is the public notification process and what initiates it?
3. What about run-off from "non-natural areas" or disturbed areas?
4. Are there any examples of federal or state lands that are marked with
warning signs or other modes of notifying the public?
