August 27-28, 2005

Robert Newman, L.Ac., M.S.T.C.M. is one of the leading experts in Asian
medicinal plant identification in the U.S.  As a student at American College
of TCM in San Francisco he developed the herb garden there, at one point
collecting over 700 species in seeds and plants.  Having traveled
extensively in China, he served as curator of the medicinal plant garden at
Nanjing Institute of Botany in 1997-98 and still maintains connections with
botanical and herbal colleagues in various provinces.  Recently he has been
leading small groups on herb tours to specific regions of China.  Robert has
taught about Chinese medicine at Yo San University of TCM in Los Angeles and
at San Francisco State University.  He was a staff acupuncturist at Tarzana
Medical Center in the San Fernando Valley and is currently an instructor and
clinical supervisor at Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in
Santa Monica, and maintains a private practice in Sherman Oaks, CA.

Limited to 15 participants.

Tuition:      $295 (includes one lunch, one dinner and course materials).
Deposit:     $50 (nonrefundable), deadline August 12th.  If oversubscribed,
the first 15 deposits received will determine admission.
Housing:      Local hotels/motels;  also a comfortable bunkroom option at
$20 per night (list provided upon registration).

High Falls Gardens is located on the eastern edge of the Hudson River
Valley, two hours north of New York City and one hour southeast of Albany.
The collection of Asian medicinal botanicals (mostly perennial species) has
been maintained in a farm field setting since 1997.  High Falls Gardens
provides educational programs for the profession of Oriental Medicine and
other herbalists, also works with the Medicinal Herb Consortium on
production research and development.
