A Conference on the Cultivation, 
Preservation & Use of Native Medicinal Plants

When: 		Saturday, October 1st, 2005
		8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.

Where:	Bracketts Farm in Gordonsville, VA (20 minutes east of
Charlottesville, VA)

Cost: 	$70 ($60 if you pre-register by September 1st)

Presented by United Plant Savers – a non-profit organization dedicated
to preserving, conserving, & restoring native medicinal plants and their
habitats in the United States & Canada, while ensuring their abundant,
renewable supply for future generations.

Savers for future projects including grants for educational native
medicinal herb gardens.

Presenters include renowned herbalists from the Appalachian region

	*	James Snow – Chair of the Herbal Division of the Tai
Sophia Institute’s Botanical Healing program in Laurel, MD
	*	Betzy Bancroft, AHG –	Office manager of United Plant
Savers and professional member of the American Herbalists Guild 
	*	Lisa Bedner, AHG –Native American Medicine Woman of the
Teehahnahmah tribe, registered nurse and professional member of the
American Herbalists Guild 
	*	Teresa Boardwine, AHG –Co-founder (with Kathleen Maier)
of former Dreamtime Center for Herbal Studies and professional member of
the American Herbalists Guild
	*	Robert  Eidus - Owner of the Eagle Feather Organic Farm,
the North Carolina Ginseng and Goldenseal Company (Marshall, NC), and
founder of the Southern Appalachian School for Growing Medicinal Plants
	*	Peter Heus – Founder and owner of Enchanter’s Garden, a
native plant nursery in Hinton, WV 
	*	Michael Lachance – Serves as the Unit Coordinator and
Agricultural Agent in Nelson County, Virginia and is actively developing
Extension programs that promote public appreciation of the natural fauna
and flora of the Virginia Piedmont and Blue Ridge as well as
preservation of healthy rivers and forests.
	*	Kathleen Maier, AHG – Director of Sacred Plant
Traditions, an herbal education center and a professional member of
American Herbalist Guild
	*	Jeff McCormack – A biologist as well as founder of two
Virginia seed companies (Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, and Garden
Medicinals)
	*	Susan Leopold Trumpetto – Susan has an MA in Landscape
design form the Conway School and teaches children about our native
biodiversity.
	*	Claudia Joy Wingo – Claudia is currently the acting
clinical division chair in the Master of Science, Herbal Medicine
Program at TAI Sophia Institute for the Healing Arts. 
	*	Robert Wooding – A 1988 graduate of  Dominion Herbal
College in Vancouver, BC, Robert has since conducted educational
programs at his farm in southern VA, as well as  other places, on
herbal/alternative healing and biodynamic gardening.
