Dear listservers,

I just completed some work in Sri Lanka with a Buddhist organization, 
Sarvodaya, who is working on sustainable issues of medicinal herbs and 
assisting farmers through microlending and business development and 
many other philantropic programs.  Sri Lanka is a poor country and has 
no social services except Sarvodya. Some of their programs include  
orphanages, homes for deaf, homes for unwed mothers, training for 
handicapped children and adults and biofuel programs, and more.

They are receiving donations by visas and mastercard at their site 
where you can get lots of info about them and their efforts to rebuild 
through their 10,000 member societies already working within Sri Lanka.
