[MPWG] Catskill Mountain Ginseng/Medicinal Herbs Festival

Dear Medicinal Plant People,
The 3rd annual Catskill Mountain Ginseng/Medicinal Herbs festival held on 
October 10 this year in the village of Catskill NY was a huge success. More 
than 400 people attended one or more of the 5 educational workshops offered 
throughout the day. Dr Jim Duke's lecture and recital was standing room 
only! Hundreds of others simply visited with the vendors, enjoyed the 
beautiful fall foliage from the Hudson river, took a day line cruise or 
treated themselves to a Shiatsu massage! All the ginseng and herb vendors 
had a great day and all promise to return next year.  Ginseng dealers from 
Maryland, Tennessee, upstate, central and down state NY City sold all sorts 
of dried and fresh ginseng from field cultivated to wild, including value 
added products.  Several herb practitioners and growers attended and have 
already planned to have a selling booth next year. Next year's festival 
will again be on the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend and thanks to this 
year's success it will be substantially bigger and better!  Mark your new 
calenders for October 9, 2005! My very special thanks goes out to the 
creator and readers of this list serve who helped to spread the word. It 
surely did make a difference. I am already looking for speakers for next 
year on topics related to herbal medicine or growing and marketing 
medicinal herbs.
