A cultivar named "ARBO" has been developed in Bavaria (by the Bayerische Pflanzenschutzgesellschaft), which is discussed in the following document (pdf format) on page 3:

http://www.pianteofficinali.org/main/Schede/Arnica.pdf

The Bavarian Ministry of Agriculture also has a pdf document on in vitro methods of arnica cultivation at:

http://www.landwirtschaft.bayern.de/alle/cgi-bin/go.pl?region=home&page=http://ssl.stmlf.bayern.de/termine/jsp/internet/termine.jsp

Perhaps there may be more detailed information available from one of the above-mentioned agencies in Bavaria.

Josef
