This note is addressed to Dr. Robert Wolkow. Dr. Wolkow, my friend Dr. Bruce
Lydiard advised I get in touch with you about a project I'm working on. I am
a photographer with a PhD in pharamcaology. I am working collaborative with
shamans of South American to create conceptual portraits that capture and
convey their wisdom and ritual as a vital component of medicinal plant
effectiveness. I have thought about and researched this from a variety of
positions. I would like to share some of my approaches and images with you
and seek advice on future directions. Certainly, part of it is how to share
this work with the various interested groups (practitioners, patients, the
