I have received a pdf file of a report on moss done by Patricia S. Muir
of Oregon State University for the Fish & Wildlife Service.  If anyone is
interested in reading it, reply to me and I'll send it to you as an
attachment.  The title of the report is:

An Assessment of Commercial "Moss" Harvesting from Forested Lands in the
Pacific Northwestern and Appalachian Regions of the United States: How
Much Moss is Harvested and Sold Domestically and Internationally and Which
Species are Involved?
