ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: It has been over 25 years since the first Executive Order on Invasive Species was signed. Since then, hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent on preventing, detecting, managing, and researching invasive species, but what
difference have we truly made? What can we do better? How can we better work together to solve the problem of invasive species? And most importantly, how can we get more of the public engaged and involved in protecting and restoring their favorite places?
This presentation will focus on what needs to change and how we change it, focusing on early detection and rapid response, and invasive species outreach and using EDDMapS and Wild Spotter smartphone apps and websites.
