Primary Duties: Assist Wildlife Habitat Assistant in a broad range
of field and office tasks. Participate in vertebrate and vegetation
surveys; assist in development of species list; perform
routine maintenance, habitat improvement, and enhancement on
Department-owned lands, including application of herbicides, fence
construction/repair, and ditch clean-out; collect and manage data; assist
with document preparation; assist with administrative tasks such as
vehicle and equipment maintenance, copying, and filing. The ability
to work in adverse weather and in unstable terrain is a must. Some
overnight travel may be required; occasional weekend work may be
required. Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a valid California
Driver's License <b>and<br>

Education: Equivalent to completion of two years of college with a
minimum of 10 semester hours in biological/natural
sciences.<div align="center">
<b>Or II</b> </div>
Experience: One year of experience in surveying, studying, or evaluating
plant, wildlife, or fish populations or habitats.<br>

Additional Desirable Qualifications: College course work in biology
and/or ecology, experience in field work, familiarity with Windows-based
computers. Willingness to do routine work and work irregular
hours.<br>
