Job Description: This position is responsible for the control of floating,
terrestrial and/or submerged vegetation that is recognized as a potential
weed problem through the use of a variety of applications or techniques.
These techniques consist of the mixing and calculating of a variety of
authorized herbicides and their application via airboats, chemical spray
trucks, outboard motor boats, and packpack sprayers. Operates and performs
repairs on spray and safety equipment as required. Prepares and maintains
reports. This job normally involves daily travel from the employee's
assigned station the work sites located within the station's jurisdiction.
Daily spray operations are usually performed in teams.

Position works outside on the water most of the year. The outside
environment is hot and humid during the summer months. Due to the
District's response role and in the total scope of emergency management,
this position may be, at times, required to provide support before, during
and after major storms events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes,
or other declared emergencies.

Employment guidelines: High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years' experience
in the mixing and application of herbicides and pesticides.

Licenses: Valid State of Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License
(CDL). Maintain a valid Restricted Pesticide License, aquatic and natural
category preferred. Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.

THIS POSITION IS SUBJECT TO RANDOM MANDATORY DRUG/ALCOHOL TESTING.

Salary Minimum: $33,404.80
Salary Midpoint: $39,707.20
Salary Maximum: $57,241.60
