Invasive Plant Management Technical Webinar Series for Government Land Managers

The Center for Invasive Species Management (CISM) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a three-part invasive plant management webinar series in March 2013. Sponsored by DuPont, the free webinars will provide federal agency land managers and other land management personnel (such as Conservation District personnel) with science-based information on the technical merits of herbicides and other control methods to aid in the decision-making and approval processes for on-the-ground invasive plant management efforts.

Each half-day webinar will focus on a particular region of the western United States: the Pacific Northwest (March 20), Greater Southwest (March 27), and High Plains and Intermountain West (March 28). Leading experts from universities, federal agencies, suppliers, and DuPont will provide stewardship and technical background information on the most effective new and existing herbicides for controlling target invasive plants in each respective region, thus enabling economical site rehabilitation and restoration. All three webinars will follow a similar curriculum and feature the same instructors; however, the invasive plant control information and resources discussed will be tailored to the geographic region under consideration.
