APWG:

Follow the money. The article "reports" gossip, and the little "substance"
mentioned (pounds of [undiluted] chemical) is resistant to analysis (at what
rate, for example, is the chemical applied at what concentrations and why;
what are the effects on non-target biota, including animals and the food
chain, etc.?), the best-known herbicide for weed-infested minds. How much
money is involved and who is getting it by what process? If "spraying"
actually "controlled" noxious weeds, there would be no weed problem.

Healthy ecosystems resist invasion, and Salsola kali is one of the weakest
"invaders." To call it, and other ruderals, "invasive" is deceptive--they
require disturbance, and are easily suppressed by healthy, indigenous
ecosystems. Making such distinctions should be step one in approaching the
problem in a disciplined way.
