I guess I should not be surprised at the focus of this conference being "Strike Teams to Prevent and Manage Invasive Species" since the conference is being held at the Armed Forces Pest Management Board. This is precisely the approach I worry about. Science is being militarized.

Fort Detrick/Forest Glenn Invasive Species Conference.  This year's focus
is the use of Strike Teams to Prevent and Manage Invasive Species.  The
conference will be held at the Armed Forces Pest Management Board, Fort
Detrick, Forest Glen Annex (Formerly Walter Reed Annex), Bldg. 172 - Forney
Rd in Silver Spring, MD.
