[APWG] Mid-Atlantic Invasive Plant Council Conference (Aug 3-4, 2011) Registration Open

The Mid-Atlantic Invasive Plant Council is pleased to announce it's Sixth
Invasive Plant Conference:

  "Tools and Techniques for Mapping, Managing and Mending Invaded Lands"

                             August 3-4, 2011

   U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service National Conservation Training Center
                       Shepherdstown, West Virginia

Topics include: early detection and prevention; invasive species mapping,
monitoring and control; restoration; cooperative weed managment
partnerships; field demonstrations of GPS technologies, mechanical and
chemical control techniques, herbicide selection, mixing and sprayer
calibration and  personal protective equipment; and the history, spread and
control of wavyleaf basketgrass.

Pesticide recertification credits will be available. For more information,

Conference Registration. Registration is available online through the
Morris Arboretum website:

Lodging. You will need to reserve your lodging at NCTC or a nearby hotel.
Lodging information is provided on the Morris Arboretum website. A block of
rooms at NCTC is being held until July 5. To reserve a room at the Center,
please call 304-876-7900 and refer to "invasive plants conference."

To receive a paper copy of the brochure and mail in your registration,
please contact the Morris Arboretum at 215-247-5777, ext. 125.

There will be a social and poster session at the close of Day One from
5-6pm in the lounge area convenient to the dining hall. If you'd like to
present a poster  please let Jil know.
