APWG:

While many alien species are good to eat, enthusiasts should be wary of 
bioaccumulators--plants that can concentrate toxic substances. One way of 
minimizing the potential for eating some toxins is to be wary of potential 
"brownfileds" and lowlands like riparian and wetland areas for collecting. 
Unfortunately, this tends to eliminate some pretty "juicy" collection sites. 
Perhaps some research money could be found to study this potential problem 
to see just how important it might be . . .
