One of my favorite definitions of an invasive plant is "one that deer don't eat" In this regard it is highly relevant. Replanting natives without addressing the deer issue is a waste of effort that I see often here in NY. Native plants disappear for other reasons besides being displaced by invasives. I think it is important to try to understand and perhaps address why the changes have occurred before beginning eradication efforts.
