Texas Launches New Invasive Species Website
http://www.texasinvasives.org

By Damon Waitt and Travis Gallo

Texasinvasives.org is sporting a new user-friendly interface and new
features like Eco Alerts by Region, where you can search Texas Ecoregions
to see what species are a problem in your area; a Report It feature to help
keep the worst of the worst out of Texas and social media like You Tube and
FaceBook. The site is still home to the Texas Invasive Plant & Pest
Council, the statewide invasive species conference, the Invaders of Texas
citizen science program, and an invasive plant database. The website also
contains an interactive mapping application, downloadable invasive species
publications and links to national, regional, and state invasive species
resources. The new and improved website was made possible by funding from
the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and in-kind support from the Lady
Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas.
