Subject: Paulownia tomentosa to be planted on public land in Nevada

Dear All,

Please alert your listserv recipients about this impending disaster. This company, based in California, wants to plant millions of Kiri trees (Paulownia tomentosa) in order to sequester CO2. This ranks right up there with planting Kudzu for erosion control.

Paulownia tomentosa has caused severe habitat disturbances in the east. The Blue Ridge Parkway and the Great Smokey Mountains National Park are overrun with the tree.

I would urge all listserv recipients to contact the Mayor of Reno.
