Re: Does anyone have any firsthand experience and/or recommendations as
to control of M. aquaticum?
We've spent the last 10 years looking at control programs for
Parrotfeather. Can't say I've found the perfect solution. Most
herbicides (foliar or in-water) do a decent job of knocking down the
above-water foliage, but regrowth in the year of treatment or the year
following is normal. Our most consistent treatment has been imazapyr @ 6
pt/ac followed by glyphosate for any regrowth that season (may required
>1 retreatment). By repeating this sequence for several years we been
able to eliminate it from most waterways. However, it takes a time and
consistent treatment follow-up.
