[APWG] Use of heat (torches) on Myriophyllum aquaticum

I have used torches, even making up a rig with a long handle and planned to make up a larger one out of a golf bag carrier (a useful application), but decided it was too slow, too ineffective, and too expensive. It also damages emergent seedlings, sporophytes, gametophytes, and other organisms essential to ecosystem recovery and effective long-term weed "control."

Does anyone have any experience using heat (i.e. blow torches) on Myriophyllum aquaticum or have any thoughts on its potential effectiveness as a control?

        Thanks,
