ENGLEWOOD - The thick canopy of intertwined roots from the invasive pest 
known as the Brazilian pepper tree was choking the life and the light from 
his backyard five years ago. Neil Sheehan, a former elementary school 
principal from Chicago, decided it was time to do battle in his new home 
state of Florida.
