Join us for a free webinar at 11 a.m. (EST) Friday, Aug. 28, 2009.

Restoration and enhancement of native warm-season grasses (NWSG) and
associated forbs provide habitat for many game species including bobwhite
quail, wild turkey, deer and waterfowl, as well as non-game wildlife and
native pollinators. Additionally, NWSG have applications in agricultural
best management practices, livestock forage production systems, and as a
potential biofuel. John Gruchy will talk about establishing NWSG from seed
and enhancing existing native plant communities using selective herbicides,

prescribed fire, mechanical disturbance and supplemental plantings. John
is a private lands biologist for the Mississippi Department of Wildlife,
Fisheries and Parks.
