[APWG] WORKSHOP: Native Plant Community Restoration & Mgmt in FL and the Southeast (Lakeland, FL)

Location: University of South Florida, Lakeland, FL

(UF/IFAS)

This workshop on Native Plant Community Restoration and Management in Florida 
and the Southeast will address restoration in uplands and freshwater wetlands. 
We intend to cover such topics as:
. native plant propagation
. plant establishment
. control of exotic plants and other weeds
. wildlife habitat needs
. hydrologic considerations

We will cover techniques but also organizing and funding cooperative efforts. 
There will be invited panels of experts, volunteer papers, plus discussions 
among panelists, speakers and audience.

We wish to make this workshop as practical and relevant as possible to meet the 
needs of practitioners and help solve problems associated with achieving 
restoration goals. We invite your participation and suggestions on topics and 
speakers. Also, please forward this announcement to potentially interested 
colleagues. Contact Dr. Richardson if you would like to present a paper. A 
title and abstract should be submitted by March 1, 2008.

Who Should Participate?
Anyone concerned with researching and/or conducting restoration, including 
representatives from federal, state, and local agencies, non-governmental 
organizations, and academic or research institutions.
