"A History of the Ornamental Callery Pear in the United States" -- (BioScience, Dec. 2007)
Abstract:   http://www.bioone.org/
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is an article that I think everyone would like to read as insights for
Bradford pear and all those other hort. intro's that are mixing it up out
there....explosion in slow motion. Please post.
This paper may help clarify some of the confusion about Callery pear, its
many cultivars, and its invasiveness. Then again, it will likely generate
many more questions and possibly even additional confusion. But that is the
way it goes with invasive species!
Jil Swearingen (to ma-eppc)
Excellent article, with ideas/lessons pertinent to many other cases.  LEM
