[APWG] State Highway Department Invasive Programs?

I know that the upper management of the California Department of
Transportation (Caltrans) has asked their local branches to
participate/cooperate with their local weed management areas. In my
county, I have been getting assistance from Caltrans. They have sprayed
two roadside targets - yellow starthistle and pampas grass - at my
general request, when they find it on their roadsides. They have
provided direct in-kind assistance - in the form of backhoes, dump
trucks and personnel - on my pampas grass removal project along a state
roadside. They are using native plants on some new roadside
landscaping.

Sincerely,

David Chang
