"Serious, Skilled Professional with a passion for natural resources, to
serve as the Executive Director of a recently formed weed management
group in Northeast Arizona.  PT position with funding for 2 years.  Job
begins Jan 1st.  Contact the Little Colorado River Plateau RC&D to
apply, 928/524-6063, ext 5."  This position will be advertised until
filled.

The Little Colorado River Plateau is a non-profit organization that
serves NE AZ by providing support to partnerships in natural resource
conservation and development.  The recently formed weed management group
is an example of how we host and support community-led efforts.  The
weed management group has received 2 years of grant funding from the
USFS Apache-Sitgreaves NF. PT means about 8 days per month at $15 per
hour, no fringe benefits available (sorry).  Follow-on funding is a very
real possibility, and the position could increase its hours and serve
for many years.

This position (Executive Director) would be an employee of the
RC&D but would work for the many members and partners of the weed
management group.  The position demands a person who has a passion for
the land, is task-oriented, with proven professional talents, keen
communication and organizational abilities and outstanding people
skills. Must be a self-starter.  Must make and meet deadlines for tasks
to achieve stated goals.

Likely the position would require frequent travel in the region, with
occasional travel to Phx of Albq.  The Executive Director should be
in good health, able to endure the challenges of meeting deadlines,
conducting meetings and building collaborative relationships with people
and other organizations.
