The revised version of the US Geological Survey Southwest Biological Science
Center's Southwest Exotic Plant Information Clearinghouse (SWEPIC) website has
just been posted and can be accessed at http://www.usgs.nau.edu/swepic/.

We've provided a color photo for each of the 300+ southwestern exotic plant
species, easy links to National Park Service Alien Plant Ranking System
information, and CAL-IPC (California Invasive Plants Council) rank, and added
more links and updated information to the previous version. These changes
make
for an even better and more user-friendly resource for weed information and
identification than before.

The Southwest Exotic Plant Information Clearinghouse is a cooperative
effort among the U.S. Geological Survey, the National Park Service and
Northern
Arizona University to organize comprehensive information on exotic plant
species in the southwest on one web location. SWEPIC serves to help all
people and organizations committed to protecting the ecological and economic
values of southwest resources from degradation from harmful non-native weeds.
The goal of SWEPIC is to provide reliable and organized information on the
distribution and ecology of these weeds in the southwest, with an emphasis
on forests, rangelands, and other natural areas.
