APWG:

On August 25, 2004, Microstegium started flowering and going to seed in
Central West Virginia. It looks like 2004 will be an extremely good year for
stiltgrass seed production in West Virginia.

At Crummies Creek Tree Farm weed whacking in medicinal plant plots has been
underway for two weeks and over twenty-five miles of roads have been brush
hogged since August 10, 2004.

On Tuesday, August 25, 2004, spraying a 2% solution of Roundup began in an
area not intended for medicinal herb production where a timber harvest is
planned for 2005 in an attempt to prevent the spread of the weed into forestland
not yet infected with the stuff.

Maturing patches of stiltgrass in fertile woodland sites are between 5' and
6' tall and stunted plants in roadways 6" tall are producing seed.

Those tiny blue flowers sure are TINY BLUE FLOWERS.
